Eriksen 'offered double-your-money deal to complete Inter transfer'

Christian Eriksen is being offered a bumper contract by Inter Milan which would more than DOUBLE his Tottenham salary.

Denmark midfielder Eriksen is currently on £80,000-a-week at White Hart Lane and Inter are having to make a huge offer to try and convince the 27-year-old to make the switch in January.

Eriksen has been offered £160,000-a-week at Inter, there are big bonuses on offer for winning trophies, reaching the Champions League and also appearance-related.

They are offering a four-and-a-half year deal and have made Spurs an offer of around £20million with Eriksen becoming a free agent in the summer when he could command a huge contract.

Inter have also offered midfielder Matías Vecino as a potential makeweight.

But it is believed Spurs chairman Daniel Levy wants a young prospect while Jose Mourinho wants a player to slot straight in if they are to consider a player-plus-cash deal.

There has always been scepticism over whether Eriksen will go in January as he has always preferred a move to Spain with Real Madrid and Barcelona interested in the past and may come back if he is free in the summer.

But Inter’s mega-offer could succeed, even though Spurs boss Mourinho insisted Eriksen will play in the FA Cup replay with Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.

Inter are confident of getting a deal done in January while Mourinho is determined to get reinforcements if it happens.
