Chelsea starlet Estevao scored as the Blues thrashed Barcelona 3-0 in the Champions League, with the Brazilian teenager praising the supporters after his standout display at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea wonderkid Estevao has expressed his delight with the Blues faithful following their stunning 3-0 triumph over Barcelona in the Champions League. The 18-year-old netted the second strike of the evening as Enzo Maresca's charges demolished the La Liga heavyweights on home turf, with a Jules Kounde own goal and Liam Delap's effort securing crucial three points.

Estevao is among football's most coveted talents currently and overshadowed his fellow prodigy, Barcelona's Lamine Yamal, who claimed the 2024 Golden Boy award aged just 17. The Spanish winger has already established himself as one of the planet's finest players.

Howver, Chelsea possess their own sensation within their squad and supporters were swift to mock Yamal during a forgettable evening in London. Chelsea fans directed X-rated songs towards the Barcelona 18-year-old, chanting: 'You're just a s*** Estevao,' whilst the Blues dominated proceedings.

Speaking to Amazon Prime following the match, Estevao praised Chelsea's supporters for making him feel welcome. The young Brazilian said: "I don't really have any words to sum up how I'm feeling right now. It really was the perfect night.

"I'm just grateful to God for everything that has happened for me. Onwards and upwards from here."

When questioned about his strike, he said: "It all happened very quickly for me, it sort of happened before I knew it.

"I just found some space, wiggled my way through and then scored that goal. It was such a special moment for me in my career. I hope to score many more.

"It was definitely the best moment of my career so far. I want to score many more for many years. I'm so grateful that my family were here watching me."

When asked about his bond with the fans, Estevao said: "From the moment I arrived here, I felt such a connection with the fans. I'm just so happy that I could score for them and make them happy. I hope to keep making them happy and score more goals for them."

Maresca has taken his time to bed Estevao into the Chelsea set-up and gave nothing away when asked if the young Brazilian would start against Arsenal at the weekend, saying: "We'll see."

Maresca added: "It is a good win. To be honest, it was no more than that. We knew how important this game was, but they are all important games. When you beat Barcelona, it is always nice so we are happy today.

"We dropped points at Qarabag away, then we won against Benfica and Ajax, then we lost the last one against Bayern Munich. That shows all of these games are complicated."
