Everton captain Seamus Coleman consoled Heung-min Son in the Tottenham dressing room after the South Korean was sent off in an incident which left Andre Gomes with a serious leg injury.
Gomes sustained the injury after colliding with Totteham full-back Serge Aurier in the aftermath of a late challenge from Son.
The Tottenham forward was visibly upset in the immediate aftermath of the incident, clearly aware of the severity of Gomes' injury.
He was shown a red card by referee Martin Atkinson, a decision that has come under scrutiny.
Dele Alli spoke of how Son was crying in the changing room at full time, while Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino revealed that the Everton skipper tried to comfort Son after the game.
Coleman was sidelined for a year after suffering a similarly-horrific double-fracture of his lower leg in March 2017, making his compassion towards Son even more heartfelt.
"The players from Everton were fantastic," said Pochettino. "The captain came to the dressing room to console Son.
"I want to say thank you to the players and Coleman, who came in on behalf of the squad of Everton."

Football is indeed more than a beautiful game. I hate to see anyone suffer such a horrific injury. The emotions and grief expressed by both teams and their set of fans is truly genuine. It speaks of the human nature to care. This goes to show that thereโs still some glitter of hope in this crazy world we live in. Son is not a dirty player and it was purely an accident. I feel terrible for Gomes and pray that God will heal him and bring him back better and stronger in no distant time. Seamus Coleman is a class act. Coming from a place of first hand experience he sure knew what Gomes is up against and had the milk of humanity to console Son. Bravo! Alas football is the winner. ๐๐พ๐ช๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ

He is like a Denis Irwin type of player, you may not like him because of the team he plays for, but he is 100% a nice, real genuine person

Neither of us may be great at the moment, but both clubs have oozed class over this

Am I right in thinking Seamus Coleman also contributed to the appeal when the Liverpool fan was badly injured? Class wears no team colours.
