Everton set to pounce on Stefan De Vrij
In what would prove to be an astonishing turn of events, reports coming out of Italy have suggested that Everton are primed to pounce on Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij.
De Vrij’s agent, the infamous Mino Raiola, is said to be offering the services of his client to Premier League clubs, in the hope of a big-money move this summer. However, the report is keen to stress that although Everton hold an interest in the defender, no official bid has been forthcoming as of yet.
Richarlison price-tag set
Richarlison’s move to Everton for a whopping fifty million pounds raised more than a few eyebrows at the time, but the Brazilian forward has justified his transfer fee, and at 24 years old, is only likely to improve.
Currently away on Olympic duty with Brazil, it is unsurprising to see the versatile toffee attracting interest from top clubs. As a result, Everton have, as per reports in Italy, slapped a hefty 77 million pound asking price on the head of the Brazilian, fearful of ex-boss Carlo Ancelotti returning for the prized asset.
Well above his current transfermarkt valuation of 49.5 million pounds, would any club be willing to shell out that much for the Everton forward?
Bid for PSG goalkeeper rejected
Everton remain on the lookout for a serious number 2 goalkeeper, to provide competition and backup to Jordan Pickford. Their previous option, Robin Olsen, returned to Roma this summer after his loan deal on Merseyside expired at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
As per Sky Sports journalist Matteo Moretto, the Toffees made an offer for PSG reserve goalkeeper Sergio Rico, whose place in the side has been taken by the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma.
However, Rico reportedly rejected the advances of Rafa Benitez’s side, as he is searching for guaranteed first team action, something that the presence of Jordan Pickford makes impossible at Everton.
