Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is heading to Liverpool to sack beleaguered Toffees manager Marco Silva.

A resounding 5-2 defeat by Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night saw Everton drop into the relegation zone and it has prompted Moshiri to act.

David Moyes is ready to return to Everton and replace Silva as manager. It will be a baptism of fire for Moyes if he does complete a return to Everton.

They host Chelsea in Saturday's early Premier League kick-off before heading to his former club Manchester United the following weekend.

They then host second-place Leicester in the Carabao Cup quarter-final before Arsenal head to Goodison three days later.

Everton dropped to 18th in the Premier League after Wednesday's loss to their Merseyside rivals. They have 14 points from 15 games and are one point behind Southampton, who occupy 17th.
