Manchester City's match against Everton has been rescheduled after it was postponed earlier this season due to Covid-19.

The match, initially set to be played in late December, will now take place on Wednesday February 17 at 8.15pm and will be shown on Amazon Prime.

City host Tottenham on February 13 and travel to Arsenal on February 21, while Everton entertain Fulham on February 14 before the Merseyside derby at Anfield on February 20.

Pep Guardiola's side were due to travel to Everton in the hectic Premier League schedule between Boxing Day and the new year, but suffered a coronavirus outbreak.

The match was subsequently put on hold to the frustration of Everton, who released a strongly worded statement in response.

It read: 'Our players were prepared for the game, as were both the team staff and everyone at Goodison.

'Match day is the most important date in our calendar. And this was a big one.

'While Everton will always have public safety uppermost, we will be requesting full disclosure of all the information that Manchester City provided to the Premier League so the club can be clear on why this decision was taken.'

City top the Premier League with three points and a game in hand over second-placed Manchester United, while Everton lie in sixth, four points off Liverpool in fourth and the Champions League spots but with two games in hand on their city rivals.
