Horrible scenes emerge in Everton-Tottenham game as Everton's Andre Gomes suffers serious ankle injury after being tackled by Son who is sent off in tears.
Son is absolutely distraught as he makes his way off the pitch, with other players visibly distressed.
The South Korean international was initially awarded a yellow card for a foul on the Everton midfielder, but Martin Atkinson upgraded it to a red as medics rushed to the aid of the Spaniard.
It appeared that Gomes' leg got caught in the turf as he landed awkwardly.

This incident is very tragic... We all pray for Andre Gomes.... Heungmin Son was also in tears for his injury and this is absolutely shocking.. We cannot say that Son was innocent but red card is not acceptable... at least VAR should have been on and see the result and I bet the referee was also shocked that he had to make the decision really fast. I respect the referee's decision as a human being. This was a winning game for Spurs but this tragedy changed the atmosphere. Moreover, Son's reaction was also very tragic as he felt really really sorry for Gomes. I bet he will visit him to hospital often for his health and Son will have mental issues due to the tackle he has done. I hope he recovers his mentality too... It was too sad to watch the end of the game.
