Everton's Monday evening Premier League clash with Tottenham paused in the 26th minute as Muslim players were allowed to break their Ramadan fast.

Everton trio Andre Onana, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Idrissa Gueye all took a moment to consume food, drink, and energy gels at the side of the pitch.

Islamic believers aren't allowed to consume food or drink between sunrise and sunset during the month of Ramadan.

The Premier League has made the decision to allow evening matches to be temporarily halted to allow players to take food and drink onboard.

The scheduled break only lasted a few minutes as the Everton trio rushed for a much-needed energy boost in the high-stakes encounter.

Other players also used the temporary halt in proceedings to grab a drink and listen to instructions from their managers in the dugout.
