Former Arsenal centre-back Philippe Senderos has announced his retirement from professional football via Twitter.
Senderos updates his Twitter and says: "This past weekend, I played my last game as a professional footballer."
"As a kid, I used to dream wildly about getting the opportunity to play for and against the best and as I close this chapter of my career and life, I couldn't be more thankful for the blessings and opportunities I've had over the years."
Senderos thanks all clubs he has ever played for and his national team.
"To my friends and my amazing family - Thank you a million times over. I look forward to the next chapter."
His former Arsenal teammate Fabregas sends wishes to Senderos: "What a career you've had my friend Senderos. Thank you for taking me as your little brother when I first moved to Arsenal."
"Nothing would have been the same without you. Congratulations on this magnificent career of yours. Proud of you."
