Rio Ferdinand believes things are getting 'a bit too hysterical' at Manchester United after the club have endured a mixed start to the Premier League season on the field.
Erik ten Hag's side have claimed a six points from three matches, but Ferdinand claimed that he has 'expected better and more consistency' from his team in their opening three matches.
Man United beat Wolves 1-0 in their opening Premier League fixture, but struggled to control Gary O'Neil's side at time, who broke through the Red Devil's midfield.
They suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat by Tottenham in London, with Ange Postecoglou's side impressing against United.
They then went two goals down inside five minutes during Saturday's home game against Nottingham Forest, but rallied with Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes all scoring to pull off an impressive come-back against Steve Cooper's side.
Despite their performances, Ferdinand believes that this is not the time for fans to panic, claiming that we're too early into the season for any hysterics.
'I think there’s just too much panic,' he said speaking on Man United on his podcast, Rio Ferdinand presents FIVE on Monday.
'Not only at United I think your club, the hysteria surrounding your club is usual,' he said to Arsenal fan Joel Beya. 'Because we’re not surprised about it. But Man United, I think its just getting a bit too hysterical at the minute.
'We’re three games in man. No trophies are handed out after three games. No player can put their best foot forward and say this is the best of me in three games. You have to be patient.
'I for one as well, like probably most of the fan base, expected more, I expected better I expected more consistency. I expected a style of play that I was used to seeing and it hasn’t been so far but it is nothing to go crazy about so far.
'When we’re 15 games in then I’ll start panicking, but at this stage I think, yes you can look at individuals and the way that teams perform and say that they can do better. But sometimes you have to look at what the positives are.'
And when pressed what the positives were during that 3-2 win against Forest, Ferdinand said: 'The positive was the reaction.
'To go 2-0 down in any game at home, I’ve played in games at Old Trafford where a team has gone a goal or two up and we’ve managed to bring it back.
'Yes I know it’s different times but that’s where you have to draw your inspiration from and have to try and find some consistency and inspiration from and the biggest gain out of all of this will be Bruno Fernandes.
'I swear to you the flack he has been getting this last week. I’ve been sitting there with my mouth wide open, thinking “how dare these people talk like that”. He’s been the most creative player in the league this last season.
'He’s the most creative player at this point in the season so far. He’s the first player to get ten goal opportunities created for his team-mates out of any body. Since he’s comet to the club he’s out performed every other player in terms of goals created chances made and assists.'

Nice words from a true legend of the club, though the heading is a bit misleading! If one reads the heading only, one might think the whole set up at Old Trafford is in chaos! Good enough the details clarify everything. I personally think that right at this point in time in the EPL, there is certainly a bit of panic in every team especially those hoping for honours by the end of the season. Just think about these teams: Aston Villa, Tottenham, Chelsea, Brighton, Newcastle, Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and may be more. I am sure there is hope and belief among the fans, players and management of all these teams that they deserve to win something this season, including the EPL itself! You can see that from the way they are taking the games. So if you are one of these teams and you lose a point or three at this stage, certainly you cause a bit of panic throughout the club! Liverpool's comeback against NCU, I am sure is giving sleepless nights among the top Managers in EPL! But as Rio concluded, it is too early for any panic but you can't avoid anxieties! For United fans allover the world now, the question is: will there be one or two more signings before the close of the window? Or more specifically so: Shall we have our own Darwin Nunez? If so when? If not, how are we preparing to counter Manchester City (Harlaand) and Liverpool (Darwin Nunez)? Those questions have to be answered before the end of Friday this week!
