Fàbregas: Every Champions League match is tough, Man United are stronger than Como

Como secured a dominant 4-1 victory over Manchester United in the third round of the Champions League group stage. It is worth noting that Como's head coach had emphasized in several interviews the difficulty for Como of competing in the Champions League while playing on three fronts.

Fàbregas once said: "Every Champions League match is tough."

He also stated: "We are Como, we were promoted from Serie B to Serie A, and now we are also playing in the Champions League, and we have to play three times a week. Some players have never dealt with such a situation, and neither have I nor my coaching staff. The challenge of the Champions League is that when you play at the Parc des Princes or the Bernabéu, for young players, this experience can drain a lot of their energy emotionally and psychologically. Eighty-five percent of the squad has never played in the Champions League. We also need to adapt to playing on one of the world's biggest stages on a Wednesday night, facing such intense competition, and then just three days later, having to travel again. Next, you only have one day to prepare for the match, recover physically, and then travel to Saturday's location for the match, and maintain the same competitive level. I don't have an answer for this yet. Our entire coaching staff has never experienced such a situation. Eighty-five percent of the players have also never encountered a similar situation. The club has never been in this position before, and neither have the fans."

Ahead of the match against Manchester United, Fàbregas previewed: "This is a very important match against one of the most influential and prestigious teams in the history of world football. They have many excellent players, and their coach is experienced and has achieved excellent results. We must gradually learn how to compete against the strongest teams, while recognizing that their strength is superior to ours."

Notably, in the first round of the Champions League, Como had already defeated RB Leipzig 4-1.
