Fabregas reveals losing penalty bet with Caballero & buying him a 'broken Rover'

Cesc Fabregas has told a hilarious story via his Instagram from his Chelsea days where he lost a bet with Willy Caballero and bought the goalkeeper a 'destroyed Range Rover'.

The 32-year-old explained that he was always confident in his ability from the penalty spot and would often make a wager with goalkeepers after training to 'put a bit of spice into the challenge'.

Fabregas, now at Monaco, said that if Cabellero could save his penalty he would buy him a Range Rover. The Spaniard admitted he was 'confident' he would score.

However, the Argentine stopper got a hand to the ball and saved Fabregas' attempt in front of the whole Chelsea squad. The midfielder explained: 'I went from feeling the most confident, to feeling the most stupid guy on earth.'

Fabregas didn't back away from the bet and stuck to his word, but that didn't stop him getting creative.

In the Instagram post, he wrote: 'Everybody obviously was shouting and laughing that I had to pay my debt. I went to a scrapyard and I found a destroyed Range Rover that couldn’t be used at all for £950 so I said, you know what? I’ll get that.'

The video shows the Chelsea squad all gathering round for the big reveal where Caballero has a towel over his head.

Fabregas then removes the towel and puts his arm around the Chelsea goalkeeper, who is cracking up at the banged up 2001 Land Rover in front of him.

He ended the post with a lesson to all his followers. 'The lesson of the story is: Don’t bet at all at any cost.'
