Famous faces of football turn out to watch Liverpool beat Monterrey in Qatar

There were a host of famous faces in attendance to watch Liverpool's Club World Cup clash against FC Monterrey.

Liverpool beat their Mexican opponents 2-1 to book their place in Saturday's final to take on Flamengo.

Naby Keita opened the scoring before Rogelio Funes Mori levelled almost straight away in the first half.

But Roberto Firmino came off the bench to grab an injury-time winner as the clock ticked towards the end, set up by another substitute in Trent Alexander-Arnold.

England manager Gareth Southgate was in attendance, alongside the FA chairman Greg Clarke, to cast their eyes over Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez and Adam Lallana.

However, the Three Lions boss probably didn't expect to see Gomez and Henderson as a central-defensive partnership, with Lallana operating in the number six role in front of the back line, as a result of Jurgen Klopp's injury problems.

Former Manchester United star David Beckham was also spotted amongst the crowd in the Khalifa International Stadium.

The ex-Real Madrid man was interviewed by beIN sport ahead of the match as part of a PR push ahead of the 2022 World Cup finals.

Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, now part of FIFA as chief of Global Football Development was also spotted in the stands, along with ex-referee Pierluigi Collina.
