Wolves fans have called for Steve McManaman to be sacked after he was caught voicing his dislike for the club during coverage of Saturday's match against Everton.

The former Liverpool winger, seemingly unaware his microphone was still on, was heard saying 'I don't like Wolves' on BT Sport shortly after the 2-2 draw at Molineux.

Supporters quickly took to Twitter to have their say on the faux pas, branding McManaman as 'unprofessional' and even calling for him to be sacked.

Angry Wolves fans also questioned a few of the pundit's remarks on the game in light of a perceived bias, including his insistence that Everton captain Phil Jagielka should not have been sent off for a tackle on Diogo Jota.

'Just heard Steve Mcmanaman say "I don't like Wolves" live on BT sport in a bit of audio that shouldn't have aired. That explains the negative commentary of them from him', wrote one.

'I had to turn off McManaman's terrible bias at half-time. So-called experts should really try to be impartial. He should be sacked for this,' said another.

McManaman grew up as an Evertonian before his stint as a player with cross-city rivals Liverpool.

On the pitch, Wolves' first game since promotion back to the Premier League ended in a 2-2 draw thanks to summer signing Raul Jimenez's late equaliser.

£44million man Richarlison put the visitors ahead on debut in the 17th minute, before Ruben Neves capitalised on Jagielka's foul to level from the resulting free-kick.

Richarlison scored again just after the hour, but Nuno Espirito Santo's side battled back late on to claim a share of the spoils on an entertaining afternoon in the Black Country.
