Gareth Southgate announced his latest England squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Montenegro and Kosovo and one omission has disgruntled fans.

Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish has not been called up to the latest Three Lions squad but supporters believe he should have been.

Grealish did miss Villa's 2-1 defeat by Liverpool due to a calf issue last weekend but has impressed in the Premier League this season.

One fan wrote on Twitter: 'Only Kevin De Bruyne (29) has created more chances from open play in the Premier League this season than Jack Grealish (24). Little stat for anyone that doesn't believe Jack's good enough to play for England.'

Another Tweet read: 'So Ross Barkley and Fabian Delph have made the England squad over Jack Grealish. Literally blows our mind! BAFFLED.'

Some fans compared Grealish to some of the midfielders that were selected by Southgate.

One user wrote: 'Cracking decision to have Delph and Winks in the England squad and leave out Grealish...,' while another Tweet read: 'Not picking Grealish shows that Southgate has completely gone back on what he said about picking on form players. Barkley? Hudson-Odoi? Ox? Delph?'

'Barkley hasn't played 90 minutes all season but let's put him in over Grealish who is playing some of his best football he's ever played,' one fan quipped.

Grealish was eligible for both England and Ireland but has confirmed that he intends to pursue his international career with the former.

One fan wrote: 'Not going to lie if I was Grealish I'm going back to play for Ireland as getting into the England team is a farce.'

On Grealish's absence, Southgate said: 'He's a very good player - I've watched him closely this season. The reality of that is he's up against (Raheem) Sterling, (Marcus) Rashford, (Callum) Hudson-Odoi and (Jadon) Sancho in those wide areas.

'The competition in that area is high level - they're all good players, Jack's a very good player - I worked with him at the Under 21s so I know all about him.

'He's very close, he just has to keep playing the way he is, and if we had issues over the weekend I wouldn't hesitate to call him into the squad.'
