Fans have heaped praise on Manchester City's Josko Gvardiol after the defender's opening goal against Fulham.

The Croatian was on hand to finish a jaw-dropping Man City move, that saw NINETEEN passes in the build-up, with only Erling Haaland and goalkeeper Ederson not involved in the goal.

The finish came from a Kevin De Bruyne, and was finished off with Gvardiol with all the finesse of a centre-forward.

The thirteenth minute goal gave Pep Guardiola's side the perfect start as they look to close in on Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.

After putting his side in the lead, fans took to social media to hail Gvardiol, who netted his fourth goal in his last seven games.

'Oh my god. What a special footballer Josko Gvardiol is. Remarkably good. THAT'S why Pep's been playing him at left-back.' One fan wrote on X.

Another simply stated: 'I’ve never seen anything like Josko Gvardiol', while there was some who compared him to the games very best by writing: 'You’ve got to be kidding me. Gvardiol looks like Messi. What the actual hell.'

The praise continued with more flattering posts including one that said: 'Gvardiol might be the most complete defender I’ve ever seen. Omg what the hell.'

And another who said: 'Defenders aren’t supposed to move like Josko Gvardiol.'

While the Croat's movement was credited by one account by saying:  'A man of Josko Gvardiol’s size and build shouldn’t be able to gracefully move like this, this is a freak of a defender.'

The goal topped a first half of dominance for Manchester City as they look to return to the top of the Premier League with a win at Craven Cottage.

A win would see Pep Guardiola's side leapfrog Arsenal and lead the Gunners by two points before they meet Manchester United at Old Trafford tomorrow.

However, Man City still have their crucial game in hand, when they meet Arsenal's North London rivals Tottenham in midweek.
