Romelu Lukaku netted a brace against Scotland on Tuesday night but he came under-fire on social media for failing to score from close range.

Kevin De Bruyne played the ball across to Lukaku and the Manchester United striker tried to flick the ball home.

However, the striker managed to hit the ball onto his other foot rather than ensure his shot headed towards Scotland's goal.

Football fans quickly tweeted about his blunder after the £75million man's miss during Belgium's 3-0 win in their latest Euro 2020 qualifier.

Alessandro Molloy said 'It's like one leg wants him to score but the other doesn't' while another Twitter user wrote: 'Great piece of defending I'd say'.

The sarcastic responses came flooding in under videos of Lukaku's latest horror miss with another saying: 'What a clearance! Wait was he supposed to score?'

Lord Pidge said: 'It was harder to do that than score'.
