Former Arsenal team-mates Granit Xhaka and Stephan Lichtsteiner were involved in a bizarre free-kick routine during Switzerland's defeat to Denmark.
Xhaka, who was recently named Arsenal's captain, initially ran past the ball.
Lichtsteiner, at Augsburg having endured a difficult campaign with the Gunners last season, then burst forward but instead of being found by Xhaka, the latter hesitated and just stood over the ball.
Denmark won 1-0 in the Euro 2020 qualifier courtesy of a goal from Yussuf Poulsen, but it was Xhaka and Lichtsteiner's exploits that attracted the majority of the attention.
One Arsenal fan wrote: 'What nonsense is this??'
Another wrote: 'My word....what did we do to deserve these?'
Meanwhile, another added: 'What were they doing'.
Another wrote: 'My captain everybody'.
Switzerland are currently in third place in qualifying Group D and still have a chance of making it through to Euro 2020.
They will return to action on Saturday with a home game against Republic of Ireland.

Xhaka has been the most irritable signing of all Wengers signings . Emery has to show faith in Xhaka because the PLAYERS voted him in as captain ( why I'll never know )
We agree and disagree with respect βΊ Thank you for your wishes .

Yeah... our problem with Xhaka is that we expect too much of him, C'mon, he's a deep lying playmaker, the system isn't the same without him, yes, he makes mistakes, the reason they're costly is that he's tasked with receiving the ball from deep, from goalkeepers and defenders, and we need our fullbacks to attack and create width, since we use inside forwards instead of true wingers, Xhaka is expected to set the tempo, find these fullbacks with his long passes (even his biggest critic can't deny this ability of his), but he's also expected to cover for these fullbacks in cases of counterattacks, this is too much for a player who isn't fast and also not a defensive midfielder by trade... most of his fouls are tactical, except a few silly ones, much like Fernandinho, but the latter is an actual defensive midfielder, so he's good at that! The main problem is that the team hasn't gelled enough, when we had our 22 games unbeaten run last season, nobody played more minutes than Xhaka, he also rarely ever get injured too... I know he makes mistakes, Ceballos loses the ball sometimes too, but not in deep position that it causes trouble, I appreciate Granit Xhaka very much and it seems his teammates and coaches always share that sentiment

I respect your opinion but I've also a right to mine . In respect to your comment , I'm not choosing to see the negative things , there is no person or player in the world perfect. If you look for negative things, you'll find them and that's not just in football, it's in every day life , I'm fully aware of this. It's hard to stay positive with Xhaka, ask yourself, what does he bring for the team? He's our captain, our defensive midfielder who is expected to control and run the game ( he never does ) . Xhaka doesn't make many interceptions, he doesn't win the ball back or give our backline enough defensive cover. He never stops giving away needless fouls in dangerous area's. It's hard to stay positive with this guy . If you can tell me the positives, I'll gladly listen. I've lost patience with Xhaka , I don't think that he has improved at all since he joined Arsenal.. Right or Wrong ... It's how i see it.

I don't agree with this... I believe you simply choose to see the negative things but we can't also do that with every other players too, at least, Messi holds on to the ball too long atimes and Ronaldo don't participate very much in buildup play... all I'm saying is, if we only choose to focus on negatives, we'll always see faults, but all these players are much more than these mistakes they make
