Fans of Leeds United and Leicester City are left DEVASTATED after relegation

Leeds and Leicester fans have been left devestated after being relegated from the Premier League on the final day of the season.

Both sides had a chance of staying up if Everton lost or drew in their game with Bournemouth, but the Toffees' 1-0 win kept them in the Premier League at the expense of their relegation rivals.

Leicester won their clash with West Ham and looked headed for safety before Abdoulaye Doucoure's goal handed Everton the three points, while Leeds never looked in the fight as they lost 4-1 to Tottenham.

The crushing defeat for Sam Allardyce's side did little to ease the pain of Leeds fans inside Elland Road, as many were seen in tears around the stadium.

Others held their heads in their hands after a 21st loss of the season, while the more optimistic fans showed flags insisting the side would 'come again' despite their relegation.

Some fans took to Twitter to vent their frustrations, with many seeing Marcelo' Bielsa's departure from the club as the root of this season's failures.

The Argentine manager was sacked towards the end of last season with Leeds just above the drop zone after finishing the previous season ninth.

Marsch departed in February after failing to avoid another relegation battle, the first of three managers to lead them this season as he was followed by Javi Gracia and eventually Allardyce.

As for Leicester, the relegation comes just seven years after their spectacular Premier League triumph in 2016, and just two years after their FA Cup win in 2021.

They parted ways with Brendan Rodgers in April after a successful three years at the club, replacing him with Dean Smith.

The change failed to save the Foxes, as a lack of investment last summer came back to bite them in a campaign that saw them lose 22 league games.

They now look set to lose star players Harvey Barnes and James Maddison, and will return to the Championship for the first time since 2014.

Fans at the King Power Stadium were just as distraught as those at Leeds, with one young fan seen being consoled in the stands as he cried after the loss.

There had been jubilation earlier in the day after Harvey Barnes' opener, but the reality appeared to set in as supporters checked their phones and saw Everton had taken a fate-sealing lead against the Cherries.

Supporters did share some positivity on social media, with various tweets insisting they would 'go again' and claiming they may even be better off without some of their current side.

The Foxes will return to the second tier alongside Southampton, who produced a thrilling 4-4 draw with Liverpool on the final day but were already relegated after a disappointing season.

They will be replaced by Championship winners and runners-up Burnley and Sheffield United, alongside Premier League debutants Luton after their playoff victory over Coventry on Saturday.
