Football fans have reacted to these hilarious responses after Mohamed Salah signed for Liverpool in 2017.
The Egyptian forward was bought for £34.3million from Roma and immediately hit the ground running at Anfield.
With 151 goals in 238 appearances, he has cemented himself as one of the best Premier League players of all time.
But, when he was originally signed by the Reds it appears he was not immediately a fan favourite.
Responding to a post on Twitter announcing his arrival at the club, one Liverpool fan tweeted: 'Not having it. Why are Roma selling him? Because he's shi**.'
Another said: 'Why pay over 30 million for a player who can't handle the pace of the premiership? Sturridge is so much better I bet Liverpool will sell him.'
A third even wrote: '£34m down the drain. Ffs why did we sign this guy,' while a fourth added: 'Mane, Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana etc... Where is he going to fit in? Quite expensive for a guy where you already have good quality.'
Looking back at these posts from today, many football fans were quick to see the funny side.
One person wrote earlier today: 'Came from 2024 and laughing at the comments.'
Jurgen Klopp's side have enjoyed a fantastic start to the Premier League season and sit three points clear at the top after a win over Newcastle yesterday.
Gary Neville also recently said he thought Liverpool 'owe it' to Mohamed Salah to still be in the title race when he returns from the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Egyptian signed off for the tournament in style on Monday night as he scored twice and laid on an assist to spearhead the Reds' 4-2 victory over Newcastle at Anfield.
Salah's goals took him level with Erling Haaland at the top of the Premier League's goal scoring charts, while his assist saw him match Ollie Watkins atop that list.
The 31-year-old could be absent for as many as eight games if the Pharaohs reach the final in the Ivory Coast and Neville reckons the Reds must do all they can to ensure they are still in the hunt when he returns.
'A lot of those players have left and they've got back to a transitional period like they were at the beginning under Klopp with Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz.' He said on the Gary Neville podcast.
'They're not polished yet. They're not at the peak of their careers where you start to make precise decisions.
'There's an electricity to them but also a frustration that in the final third the last part can go a little bit wrong. You wonder what that's going to be like without Salah but they owe it to him to get through the next month still in the title, still at the top of the league and still ahead so they can give Salah a chance to come back and have a real go at the title.
'I didn't think Liverpool would be in a title race and I still don't think they'll do it. The hesitation I have in my voice is due to those three players [Gakpo, Nunez and Diaz] but Klopp is something different as a manager.'

What's in storage for the future... YOU NEVER KNOW. There have been numerous players who had been tipped to be the best player in the world and they have faded into oblivion and there have been players who were world class but they were never supposed to be a professional in the first place. That's the beauty of sports for you. ❣️❣️

Salah would have 15 EPL assist by now if Nunez is more clinical
