'Fantastic ball from Fred' - Mata thanks teammate for his goal vs LASK 🎥

Juan Mata has taken the time to thank Manchester United teammate Fred for the role he played in netting his latest goal for the club.

Spanish midfielder Mata was one of five changes to the United squad on Thursday night as they travelled to face LASK in the Europa League.

Mata wasted a couple of decent opportunities to score in the first-half of the match but was back at his best when he netted the third of five goals in the comfortable win.

The 31-year-old gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side a three goal lead in Austria when he latched onto a defence-splitting pass from Fred before slotting beyond the keeper.

It was a clinical finish from Mata to kill the game off but he believes Fred deserves most of the praise for the role he played in the goal.

"Fantastic ball from Fred," Mata told MUTV after the win.

"It is difficult to see my run because there were many players in front of him. But, he has got that beautiful left-foot, and that vision. It was the perfect ball and I could finish.

"After that we scored another two goals, so I think in the last 15 minutes we killed the game, and we are very happy about that."
