Fede Valverde has received a Spanish passport, which means that Real Madrid's three non-EU players for next season will be Eder Militao, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes.
It is Rodrygo who benefits most from this news as Militao and Vinicius had guaranteed spots in Los Blancos' first-team squad, with LaLiga's regulations stating that only three non-EU players can be registered in the 25-man squad.
MARCA reported on Monday that Valverde was set to obtain a Spanish passport and there was little doubt that it would be Rodrygo who would be the player to be selected by Zinedine Zidane.
Kubo will have to wait
Takefusa Kubo, however, is the player who is negatively affected by this outcome as it was a battle between Rodrygo and himself to be named as the third non-EU player.
The Japanese playmaker has been excellent during this pre-season, but Zidane and those at the club are eager to ease him into life in the Spanish capital.

So it's Kubo Vs Rodry. I believe Rodry is a bit more ready for the 1st team, but the decision should wait until we know who is finally leaving, as it might be better to send them out on loans if Bale, James and Lord Vasquez stayed.
