Respected magazine France Football have named Rinus Michels their greatest manager of all-time and Sir Alex Ferguson has to settle for second place.
Despite being regarded by many in the football world as the best ever, Ferguson - who won 13 Premier League titles and two Champions Leagues - was pipped to first by former France boss Rinus Michels
Michels, who died in March 2005, won trophies across Germany, Spain and Holland before becoming manager of the Dutch international manager.
Other accolades include being named the greatest coach of the century by FIFA in 1999 as well as being recognised for masterminding Dutch football's era of dominance in the 1970s
He led Holland to the World Cup final in 1974 before winning the European Championship in 1988. Arrigo Sacchi and Johan Cruyff followed in third and fourth.
Pep Guardiola leads the way for those managers currently working in the game.
Guardiola, who is aiming to lead Manchester City to back-to-back Premier League titles, is No 5 on the list.
Carlo Ancelotti, the current boss of Napoli, is eighth. Bill Shankly, the man who managed Grimsby Town before leading Liverpool to the UEFA Cup in 1973, made it to No 10.
Sir Matt Busby was one place behind Shankly while Jose Mourinho came 13th with Brian Clough in 15th.
Marcelo Bielsa, who is trying to guide Leeds back to the Premier League, is 48th on the list.

Wenger top 10. Chaanged English football, kept Arsenal in top4 for 10 years qith no money and ofcourse,INVINCIBLES Managerial rankings can't be based on CL football Stephen Constantine took India from 170 in 2015 to 96 in 2018. That's really great.

I make case for Mourino. Chelsea for 50 whooping years could not win EPL but Jose came in & broke that miserable record back to back without players in the class of Messi; Ronaldo; David Beckam & Iniesta. With little known Porto he beat Ferguson's ManU to win the Champions League. He went to Italy & broke the record of non Italian club winning 3 cups including champions league with Inter Milan. He went to R.Madrid & broke the record of 18yrs non Cup de Rei victory by the club. He returned to Chelsea for 2nd time & won EPL immediately. He came down to ManU & broke the record of Man U having not reached the quarter finals of Europa league & won it together with 2 other cups in his Ist season which Pep & Ferguson could not achieve in their Ist seasons with Man City & Man U. Jose is far better than number 13 pls.
