Bruno Fernandes recently gave an interview to Portuguese media, in which the 31-year-old Portuguese midfielder revealed many details of his near-transfer to Saudi Arabia this summer. He also revealed that Bernardo Silva is actually more annoying on the field.

“I knew very well that Manchester United wanted me to leave. I guess the club didn't do so because Ruben Amorim wanted me to stay, but I could sense that even if I left, it wouldn't be a bad thing from the club's perspective,” the Portuguese international explained.

He also revealed that he had spoken with Cristiano Ronaldo about the matter: “Ronaldo gave me some advice, but the final decision was always mine. I decided to stay because I truly love this club, but loyalty isn't valued as much as it used to be in football today.”

Bruno Fernandes reviewed Ruben Amorim's time at Manchester United and the difficulties the manager faced. “It was a difficult start for him. He came here after winning everything at Sporting Lisbon, only to face a team with extremely low morale,” Bruno Fernandes emphasized. “We performed well in the Europa League, but we couldn't maintain consistency in the league,” he added.

The Manchester United captain also stated that he wasn't the most “disliked” player on the pitch, dedicating that title to one of his national team teammates. "My image on the pitch always makes people think I'm a complainer, but Bernardo Silva is more annoying than me," he joked, while revealing the Manchester City midfielder's "secret": "He always speaks very politely, which I can't do! My problem is that I always like to wave my arms when I talk."
