Super Eagles defender Emmanuel Fernandez has been voted Rangers FC Player of the Season after an impressive first campaign with the Scottish giants.
The centre-back joined Rangers in July 2025 from Peterborough United and quickly became a key figure in the squad with a string of commanding performances.
Fernandez made an instant statement by scoring on his debut in November 2025 and continued his strong form throughout the season.
His displays also earned him the club’s Player of the Month honour in January 2026.
His rise at club level was rewarded in March 2026 when he received his first invitation to the Nigeria national football team. He celebrated his debut with a goal, further highlighting his growing influence.
The defender featured in 29 matches in all competitions during the 2025/26 season, scoring six goals from the backline.
Winning the club’s top individual prize caps a remarkable debut season for Fernandez and boosts Nigeria’s defensive options ahead of future international assignments.
