Ferran Torres: I can't wait to work under Guardiola

New Manchester City signing Ferran Torres has declared his excitement at getting the chance to work under Pep Guardiola.

Due to their European exertions over the summer, City don't make their Premier League bow until September 21 against Wolves.

As such Torres has yet to experience Guardiola's input, but he is looking forward to how his game will develop under his new coach.

"I haven't had the chance to train with Pep yet," Torres told MARCA in his first interview as a City player.

"But he should be with us on Monday and I'm so excited to finally work with and learn from him."

The 20 year old feels that despite City's staggered start, it won't dampen his enthusiasm to get going.

"I can't wait for the Premier League to start," he said.

"It's such a special competition that I have wanted to play in since I was young.

"There will be five or six teams competing for the title, but in reality any team can spring a surprise on the day.

"It's a challenge for me now to adapt as quickly as I can to the intense, physical style of play.

"But I fully intend to give it my all and develop my game at the same time."

Torres will wear the 21 shirt vacated by David Silva, and he will be one of 26 Spanish players in the English top flight this season.
