Florentino Perez tells players Mbappe is staying at PSG

Mbappe is still deciding what to do... and time is now running out. The current PSG player has still not revealed anything about his future and time is ticking. His current contract expires on 30th June.

The latest reports have gone down like a lead balloon at Real Madrid. Nevertheless, Real Madrid have always appeared calm over the deal.

However, the bombshell was dropped after the final La Liga game of the season, which was against Betis. As journalist Guillem Balague said, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez went down to the dressing room and told the squad that Mbappe is staying in Paris.

After months of speculation and reports, the Frenchman has reportedly made his final decision just over a week before the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool in Paris.

Without official confirmation over it, what does seem clear is that Mbappe has kept the two clubs on tenterhooks, Real Madrid are the biggest losers after months and months of negotiations while PSG have managed to keep their man by offering Mbappe huge amounts of money.

On Friday afternoon, Mbappe's mother, Fayza Lamari, confirmed in an interview with 'Kora Plus' that his son had reached an agreement with both parties and that he will have to make a decision in the coming hours.

The alleged verbal agreement the striker had with the Madrid board came to nothing and the club are bewildered as they cannot understand this sudden change of decision. A change which, according to 'Eurosport', is due to the astronomical offer PSG put on the table for him. That meant the PSG player will end up staying at the club for the 2022-23 season.

Despite the fact Real Madrid do not want distractions at such an important time for the club, the truth is that the news is a major setback for Madrid. At the moment, there is nothing official and we will have to wait for official confirmation. However, everything seems to indicate that we will soon have a decision.
