Virgil van Dijk is expected to follow in Mo Salah's footsteps and sign a new contract with Liverpool, whereas Manchester United are looking to rip up their squad
We might be in the thick of this season's run-in but clubs are already planning for next term.
This week alone sees the second legs of European quarter-finals take place, Easter fixtures in the EFL and another round of Premier League action but behind the scenes, the wheels are already turning on the 2025-26 campaign.
Manchester United are preparing for a big summer as Ruben Amorim looks to rebuild on what's confirmed to be the Red Devils' worst-ever Premier League season. United can still win the Europa League which would also secure Champions League qualification, but there's no quick fix to their problems, with questions over Amorim's future already looming.
It's a different story over at champions elect Liverpool, who sent their fans wild last week when they announced that Mo Salah had finally signed a new two-year contract. The Egyptian king of Anfield had entered the final three months of his previous deal, just like team-mate Virgil van Dijk has.
But there's a good news on the horizon, straight from the horses mouth.
Here's a round-up of the latest football news.
Man Utd plot Ramsdale transfer
Manchester United are reportedly lining up a surprise bid for Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. The Red Devils have begun their search for a new goalkeeper after Andre Onana's recent howlers.
According to The Sun, United are among the pack of clubs looking to make a move for Ramsdale, 26, after Southampton's relegation was confirmed. West Ham are also interested in the England international, who has a clear preference for his next move.

Van Dijk drops Liverpool contract hint
Virgil van Dijk has strongly hinted that his new Liverpool contract will be announced following the club's Hillsborough commemorations this week. Van Dijk, 33, is expected to join Mo Salah is signing a new two-year deal.
"I think first, all the focus should be going to the Hillsborough anniversary," the Dutch defender said. "I think that's the main thing and then we'll see. The focus will still be on Leicester, but maybe there's some news. I know … but I don't know."

Newcastle confirm Howe diagnosis
Newcastle have confirmed that manager Eddie Howe is recovering in hospital after being diagnosed with pneumonia. Howe, 47, also issued a statement of his own after missing Sunday's 4-1 win at home to Manchester United.
"A huge thank you to everyone connected with Newcastle United and the wider football community for your messages and warm wishes," the Magpies boss said. "They have meant a lot to me and my family."
