River Plate won a fourth Copa Libertadores title as two extra-time goals saw them come from behind to beat Boca Juniors 3-1 in Madrid.
Match Events
44'GOAL! River Plate 0-1 Boca Juniors (Benedetto)
Benedetto opens the scoring and gives the Boca the lead on aggregate! After a wonderful ball from Nandez to find the striker, Benedetto was able to skip away from the challenge of Maidana before slotting the ball into the bottom right corner of the net beyond Armani.
68'GOAL! River Plate 1-1 Boca Juniors (Pratto)
They have been knocking at the door and finally they get their breakthrough. Fernandez plays a quick give-and-go with Perez on the right side of the Boca penalty area and is able to get in behind. Once in behind, Fernandez can tee the ball up for Pratto who cannot miss from the penalty spot with Andrada out of position.
92'Second Yellow Card! Barrios sent off
Barrios is shown a second yellow for going in late with his studs showing as Palacios managed to get to the loose ball first and knock it away.
109'GOAL! River Plate 2-1 Boca Juniors (Quintero)
Mayada gets down the right-hand side and finds himself in acres of space following some neat interplay. The defender gets his head up and is able to pick out Quintero on the edge of the box. The substitute gets the ball out of his feet and unleashes a sublime left-footed strike which flies beyond Andrada and into the top left corner of the net.
120' GOAL! River Plate 3-1 Boca Juniors (Martinez)
Quintero has made the difference this evening and his pass to send Martinez clean through on goal has sealed the deal for River this evening. What an impact he has had!
Match Report
The opening 45 minutes grew progressively more fiery as half-time approached, with Boca ultimately deservedly edging ahead through Dario Benedetto's brilliantly worked goal in the 44th minute.
A similarly applaudable Lucas Pratto goal levelled things after the interval to secure an extra 30 minutes, and Wilmar Barrios' sending off handed River the initiative, as Quintero gloriously put them ahead and then Martinez rounded things off in the closing stages.

Boca were sloppy from the get go and it got worst especially in the 2 half and extra time. Pavon was lost throughout the whole game and why did they start Perez? Taking Dario out so early was a bad idea and also putting on Gago who just too old for these types of games. Barrios is MAD MAN. I like the fact River Plate starting xl was all Argentine. Every time I watch Pratto play am like why is not in Argentina's squad? Martinez eventually got into the game and scored. It wasn't the best football but the atmosphere was intense to bone. I can't wait for a next Superclasico. VAMOS ARGENTINA 🇦🇷

UEFA should monitor their movement till they get back to Argentina because something hectic is on the way..They should really look for something to capture all those tout behaviors from both team and let those who want to support to be peaceful
