Former Tottenham striker Mido has insisted Gareth Bale should forget his lucrative salary at Real Madrid and rejoin Mauricio Pochettino's side this summer.
The Welsh winger has fallen way down the pecking order at the Bernabeu with manager Zinedine Zidane even refusing to bring him off the bench in their home defeat to Real Betis last week.
The Spanish giants are desperate to get Bale off the wage bill as they look to revamp their attacking options this summer.
Mido, who spent two and a half years at White Hart Lane, insists Bale should leave the Spanish giants and his staggering salary for a return to English football.
He told talkSPORT: 'Go back to Tottenham. Come back and play at Tottenham for three or four years.
'He's got so much money, I'm sure he'll be well off enough now to have a happy life with his family.
'He needs to feel loved and people love him at Tottenham. If he goes back he will be one of the best players in the Premier League again.'
Mido also thinks Bale's poor form means he does not get enough recognition for what he has achieved in Spain but a return to Spurs would help 'get his desire back'.
He added: 'I've always known Gareth as a top professional, he gave everything for Tottenham and gave everything for Real Madrid and I believe he deserves more respect.
'Honestly, I would love to see him back at Tottenham. I remember his first day at Tottenham, I was there and I remember him being shown around the training ground with his mum and dad as a young boy.
'I believe if he goes back to Tottenham he will get his desire back. I think Gareth is one of those players who needs to feel loved to play well, and at Tottenham everyone loves him.
'The news that's coming out now is really bad because you can see there's something against him at Madrid and he deserves more respect.'

he'll always be welcome, but his wages would cost too much and there are more important holes in our squad right now. I'm not even sure he deserves to start ahead of Son or Dele Alli; maybe if Eriksen goes the situation changes

bale did give an interview directly after the champions league final where he stated if he wasn't getting enough playing time, he would look to leave. to me that sounded like he was talking directly to zidane, who is now back as the manager. not the only factor, but one factor on why he might want out.

Why would Bale leave Madrid, though? He has a contract, and both him and his agent have gone on the record saying that he wants to stay. They can’t force him out and he seems to be fine with either warming the bench or not even making the squad. The man’s achieved everything you could possibly achieve as a footballer and then some. And now he gets to live in a beautiful city and play golf all the time. Also... honestly. Bale is far from the player he was when he left us, and he is extremely injury prone; I don’t see him being able to handle both the PL and Poch’s grueling conditioning. And I’m sure people won’t want to hear this, but Bale also doesn’t care about Spurs at all. Even Modric seems to have more affection for the club. while Bale has obviously moved on. We should probably do the same.

I love Bale to bits. I'd love to see him in a Spurs shirt again. But Madrid made that impossible. His wages don't justify his play time and go far beyond what anyone can afford (let alone Spurs), and his attitude has completely gone south. Bale would destroy everything Spurs have worked for since he left, in the same way Madrid are currently paralyzed with him there. I love Spurs more than I love Bale. And I do not want to see Spurs fall because Madrid up.

Well, i think we don't actually need him, his salary his really big, he's not young, often at the hospital, or golfing..... I think we should better prepare the future, on the goalkeeper side. Lloris is getting old, even if he's still impressive. (I'm french) I would also recruit someone to replace Kieran trippier, and another one to replace Danny rose. I consider these 2 as our weak points for now on. And to end up, just try out to find a young guy with high potential, such as Sandro Tonali.

Bale was one of the reason why I became a spurs fan. It was champions league group stage almost a decade ago where Tottenham went down 4-0 in 16th minute against former champions league winner inter. Bale scored an hattrick of identical goals and even though Tottenham lost 4-3,they showed their fighting spirit AND they beat them 3-1 in return leg where if I'm not mistaken, bale had two assists. I've a Tottenham fan since that day. Would I take bale back? I think I would. But even if he isn't back at spurs, I would still like to see him back in Premier league because Premier league is only league that I follow. If it was up to me, I'll bring all the best players messi, Neymar, Ronaldo(back) and many more to Premier league.
