Former West Ham star Tomas Repka has been handed a six-month prison sentence after being found guilty of revenge porn attacks on his ex-wife.

The 44-year-old, who played for West Ham between 2001 and 2006, was sentenced at a court in Brno, Czech Republic on Thursday, according to The Sun.

Repka reportedly posted three fake escort ads on the internet to attack his former wife Vlad'ka Erbova.

The former footballer has decided to appeal the sentence so a judge will now decide if he should spend six months behind bars.

His current partner, TV presenter Katerina Kristelova, has been hit with a £1,750 fine for playing a part in the attack against Repka's ex-wife.

Ms Erbova said: 'I collapsed when I found out who had done it. I could not sleep.

'I needed to see a psychiatrist, and I am going into therapy.'

A contrite Repka said: 'I'm sorry - it was wrong of me. But my relationship with my ex-wife was not good.

'I wasn't able to see my son, and the situation escalated.'

Repka has had brushes with the law in the past as he has been fined for drink-driving and previously failed to pay child maintenance.
