Frontman has 12 goals to his name this season

Borussia Moenchengladbach striker Alassane Plea has issued a...ahem..come and get me plea to Tottenham.

The France frontman is a headline writer's dream when it comes to a potential transfer away from the German side.

Plea was linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer, with the likes of Spurs, West Ham and Newcastle all credited with an interest in the then Nice frontman.

However, he opted to join Bundesliga side Moenchengladbach, where he enjoyed an incredible start to the season.

Plea notched a hat-trick on his debut in the German Cup, as Moenchengladbach routed BSC Hastedt 11-1, before going on to score five goals in his next seven games.

The goals have slowed up a little since then, with four in his last ten, but his goals have helped to propel Moenchengladbach into Champions League contention, with the side third in the Bundesliga.

And the Champions League is clearly the aim for Plea, if not with the German outfit, then with another club as he admitted that the German side were an "intermediate step" for him.

Speaking to Canal+, as reported by Goal , the 25-year-old said: "Yes, there are plans, we always want to play in the best clubs.

"I wanted to pass an intermediate step and that's why I came here. It's up to me to be good, and try to find a super club and play the Champions League."
