Frank Lampard insists he has too much respect for Roy Hodgson to have a row with the Palace boss

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard says he will not have a touchline spat with Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson during their match on Saturday.

Having clashed last season with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, Lampard was involved in another row in midweek, this time with Tottenham manager and former Blues coach Jose Mourinho.

But Lampard insisted on Friday that he has too much respect for 73-year-old veteran coach Hodgson to have a row with him and took a sly dig at Mourinho by adding 'I have people who I listen to.'

'Absolutely Roy has been a straight down the line manager and coach,' said Lampard, who worked under Hodgson as a player with England.

'His career has been exceptional. There will be no touchline spats with him.'

But when asked if he would take heed of Mourinho's words on Tuesday, when he inferred that Lampard talked too much on the sideline when leading 1-0, Lampard said: 'I don’t think any remarks on the touchline can be seen as advice. I have people who I listen to.'

A touchline spat between Mourinho and Lampard was one of the main talking points on Tuesday night and took place after Timo Werner had given the visitors the lead.

'F****** hell Frank, when you're losing 3-0 you're not standing up here,' Mourinho said, in one of the most cutting verbal blows.

Mourinho also indicated Lampard was talking too much as tempers flared. The Chelsea manager bit back but smiled it off.

Chelsea went on to concede in the second-half and eventually lost on penalties, with Spurs progressing to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

At the end of last season, Lampard came to verbal blows with Klopp too, where he accused the Reds boss and his staff of 'arrogance' after they secured the Premier League title.

Meanwhile, Lampard confirmed that Christian Pulisic would be in the squad for the Saturday lunchtime clash at Stamford Bridge, but Hakim Ziyech would not be available until after the international break.

'Pulisic is in the squad for tomorrow. He won't start, it's great to have him back,' Lampard said.

'Ziyech is getting closer but not close enough to be on the bench.'
