Eintracht Frankfurt CEO Axel Hallmann has said it would take a bid in excess of £78million for the club to sell Randal Kolo Muani, amid interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
Manchester United will be in the market for a new number nine this summer and Kolo Muani has emerged as a possible target and alternative to Harry Kane.
The French international, who played in last year's World Cup Final, has scored 13 times in 28 games since moving to Frankfurt from Nantes last summer, and is being watched by a number of clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
The German club are keen to hang on to the 24-year-old, and CEO Hallmann believes in the current market, even a value of £78m would not tempt the Bundesliga side in selling their prize asset, who's still tied to a long-term deal with Frankfurt.
In a report from TeamTalk he said: 'Kolo Muani? When I look at the international market, I imagine a different number than €90m – more than this.
He has a long-term deal. My absolutely ideal scenario would be that he stays with Eintracht.'
United aren't the only club eyeing up a move for the striker, with Bayern Munich, Napoli, Barcelona, Newcastle, Atletico Madrid and PSG all keeping tabs on any possible move for Muani.
While Chelsea could also join the hunt, as they explore their own striker options ahead of next season once a new manager is confirmed at Stamford Bridge.
United boss Erik ten Hag has recently admitted a move for a new number nine will be the club's priority this summer, and had seen Kolo Muani has a cheaper outlay than their pursuit of Harry Kane.
However, given the figure quoted by the Frankfurt's CEO, it would take a near club-record fee to bring the big front man to Old Trafford. Meaning, they maybe a temptation to stick to a more established name, like Kane as their number one target.
Kane's future remains uncertain, with the England skipper out of contract next year and his club future unclear with Spurs currently without a permanent boss.
However, it's expected to take a bid of over £100m to prize the 29-year-old away from North London and would present a difficult negotiation process with owner Daniel Levy.
As well as Kane and Kolo Muani, the Red Devils have also been linked with Napoli's Serie A-winning striker Victor Osimhen and Danish hitman Rasmus Hojlund, who's currently with Atalanta.
