Fred & Wan-Bissaka selected for drug testing after City clash (Athletic)

Fred and Aaron Wan-Bissaka weren't allowed inside Manchester United's changing room immediately after Sunday's derby victory over Man City.

Instead, the Red Devils duo were forced to walk the corridors of Old Trafford with a chaperone, according to reports.

Both players featured in Manchester United's surprise 2-0 victory over champions Manchester City, in which French forward Anthony Martial and Scotland international midfielder Scott McTominay were on the scoresheet.

The win saw United immediately close the gap on Frank Lampard's Chelsea in fourth, who beat Everton earlier in the day, and was the club's fourth win in their past five matches.

Both Fred and Wan-Bissaka were selected for drug testing following the derby, according to The Athletic. As a result, the two players were not allowed in the changing room until they had provided a sample.

The report adds that samples for both players were not provided until nearly 7.30pm.

The alleged reason for this is that Wan-Bissaka was so dehydrated from the game it took him nearly an hour to produce a sample.

Once samples had been taken from both players they were allowed to rejoin their team-mates in the home dressing room, and change out of their kit.

United opened the scoring on the half-hour mark on Sunday after Bruno Fernandes played through Martial to net.

The Red Devils bagged a second late on through McTominay, who intercepted an Ederson goalkick to lob the shot-stopper from range.
