A banner reading 'Free all Saudi prisoners' was flown over St James Park as Newcastle hosted Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
The protest comes amid the Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund's backing of Newcastle, after a takeover was completed in 2021.
The Saudi regime has been been heavily criticised by human-rights groups for multiple alleged offences.
This includes the exploitation of migrant workers, criminalising the LGBTQ community and the imprisonment and torture of anti-Saudi dissidents.

These people want to push their beliefs on other people like it's only their way. It's their Country to do as they see fit like how they do what they want in ur country. I'm sure England has enough problems in the country to be worrying about Saudi rules. These people find every country to meddle in while their business is spoiling. Wasn't it yesterday they were shouting #not my king & not my queen yet today it's about Saudi prisoners. STAY IN YOUR COUNTRY IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THEIR RULES!!
