Graeme Souness slammed Watford midfielder Etienne Capoue for his tackle on Wilfried Zaha during Sunday's game against Crystal Palace.
Replays showed the Frenchman had stamped on the back of Crystal Palace winger Zaha's heel, with Souness and his fellow Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp claiming after the match that it was a 'nasty, spiteful and malicious tackle'.
Souness, though, developed a reputation of his own for abrasive challenges during his time as a player.
Here, Sportsmail takes a look at the former Liverpool battler's most memorable challenges.
Incredibly, and despite his reputation as a hard man, Souness was never sent off in his 247 games for Liverpool.
It was a different story north of the border, however, as he picked up three red cards when he turned out for Rangers.
As bracing tackles on Steaua Bucharest’s Gheorghe Rotariu and Hibs’ George McCluskey serve to evidence, Souness certainly wasn't scared of flinging himself into confrontation.

Really enjoy when Graeme Souness gets angry about bad tackles, as if he's forgotten he once had the whole of Romania after him cos he broke someone's jaw with a right hook in a European Cup Semi Final. What a man.

Graeme Souness is the type of guy who would complain about the music and food at a funeral.
