Panicked Manchester United supporters have locked horns over the club's dismal form this season, with the defeat by Brighton compounding their frustration.
Erik ten Hag's side collapsed to back-to-back losses after being downed in limp fashion at Old Trafford, with Danny Welbeck, Pascal Gross and Joao Pedro on target.
Hannibal Mejbri's second-half strike proved a mere consolation, leaving United languishing 13th in the Premier League after their first five top-flight matches.
Though boss Ten Hag has insisted the club are not gripped in an early crisis, matchgoers have expressed their concern at their sluggish start to the campaign.
However, there appears to be a clear divide, with some fans calling for patience and others insisting there can be no excuses for their struggles.
'Manchester United fans have no patience, no clue how to deal with low moments or bad results,' one X, formerly Twitter, user said. 'We are in the mud.
'I pray to God our club trust ten Hag and don't reactionary sack him, like most of our fans would.
'[Mikel] Arteta was a project manager too, took time and look at Arsenal now.'
Another, though, wrote: '3-1 in back to back games. This isn't Manchester United.'
A third account pointed to Brighton's savvy off-field set-up and believes United would do well to use it as a blueprint in their bid for future success.
'When you have a clear club philosophy and plan combined with excellent scouting and recruitment, there's only one way to go. Upwards,' they said.
'Brighton are a model club, absolutely excellent team and manager but its the owners/boardroom that can facilitate that. Man United, take note.'
'The problem with Man United is their large section of fanbase and few ex-footballers who blame the Glazers for everything,' a fourth user added. 'WIN, credit to Ten Hag.
'Lose, blame the Glazers.'
A fifth posted a photo of Cristiano Ronaldo and David de Gea and said: 'Ten Hag, you owe us an explanation. How do we still have problems without the problems?'
United's poor defensive record was also scrutinised, with a further user saying: 'Only Burnley and Wolves have conceded more goals than Man Utd this season in the PL.'
Speaking post-match, responding to a suggestion that United are in crisis, Ten Hag said: 'No, but we have to be disappointed and we have to be very annoyed with ourselves because at United the demand is you win games.'
Asked if he is worried by the poor start, he added: 'Definitely, that is something that bothers me. But finally it's about character and now we have to see how strong we are and how the team sticks together and which players stand up and lead the team.
'We need character, belief, resilience and determination absolutely.'

someone said Arteta was a project manager yes that so true but he never bring arrogance or destroy the dressing room or rather come to social media to blame a player that didn't even travel with team after loosing to his rival match after matches ETH keeps bringing one excuses or the other he needs to take charge he literally destroying the team
auba dislikes him a lot, hence his posts and talks against arsenal

This was the 1st time that I've actually witnessed this squad actually play the ETH's style of football philosophy. The only problem was that Brighton play the same way and are way better at it. Utd's failure to pass accurately was detrimental. ETH's style relies on Quick Passing and accuracy . Demands team play over individual brilliance. DM, Casemiro had a bummer, was very slow 🐌 and failed to pass accurately when it mattered most. Bruno Fernandes- same , wayward passes never reached the intended recipient. Rashford - failure to convert goal scoring opportunities by choosing power over execution. Choosing to go alone instead of being a creator cost the team . Score could have easyliy been 3-3 or 4-3 in Utd's Favour if only he could stop being selfish 🤔

Rashford needs to know that he's playing in a team. everything shouldn't be he alone if he just release the ball to his teammates on time it would be better

Onana's jersey number in Manchester united is 24. With the rate he's conceiving goals, it's hope he won't concede 24 goals mid-season

The problem with ten hag is he wants players to play the way he wants man it'd players don't express themselves freely it's like they are tied as a player u play good when u are able to express yourself freely

that's a lie, he sold off the veterans in the team, Aubameyang, lacazette, bellerin, Ozil, many others just because they couldn't agree fully with him
nah you might be right about letting the old folks leave but he never had issues with them never ever ozil was already sitting on the bench before he came and it a question of whether auba or lacca plays his preference was lacca at the time but he never ever had issues with them they players that left at that time older ones not having problem with random players

The season may be long and bumpy. I see Man Utd weathering the storm. Take a cue from Arsenal, support ETH. Rome wasn't built in a day. GGMU! Respect. 🔥

My concern is Herik Ten Hag refusing to use home grown youngsters like Garnacho, Pellestri , Hannibal early in matches . Bringing them late when the damage had been done is erroneous. Other teams use theirs to wear our oldies out before substituting them for the experience ones .

someone said this after Ronaldo issue with this manager " These fans that support your action will bring up your sack latter because I foreseen failures ahead of your arrogance" my humble submission anyway, you better don't lose 3-1 to arsenal less to recover from same score line will be difficult. Man United FC the practical example.

Teng Hag is the worst manager to handle man united. He does not have game plans at all. The players only rely on individual skills.

the problem with man united is not players but bad manager. Teng Hag should be sacked immediately

Ten Hag is not a serious manager, how come he remains sitting every time without giving pressure to players like Sir Alex. He's not longer Ten Hag but 5 only.

Ten hag is a problem to himself let's go slowly 1: removed CR7 then replaced him with Weghorst because it's his country man 2: left degea departed for free because he was with onana at Ajax 3:left Fred leave for mount because once Mount played on loan in the Holland 4: Brought Antony and whom we haven't seen much about him now has created fued with Sancho 5: playing Bruno as a winger is a crime 6: playing Ericksen for full 90mins then introducing martial who hard no any impact in the gam 8: Radford is becoming another mbape doesn't know how to play with hojuland 9:He has to change the formation of play to 433 I mean casemiro in the middle and then supported by Amtabat and Bruno upfront then Radford hojuland and ganarcho..... NB: If he fails has to face the knife because he football has no identity and no style..... my view
