Fulham are already beginning their summer clear-out and Andre Schurrle is set to become the first casualty following their relegation to the Championship.
Fulham's fate was sealed on Tuesday night with five Premier League games remaining as they were heavily defeated 4-1 by Watford at Vicarage Road.
And the Craven Cottage outfit have already started to prepare for life in the Championship by looking to let players go, with Schurrle perhaps first out the exit doors.
According to the Sun, Fulham will send Schurrle back to Borussia Dortmund a year early after insisting on a clause in his two-year loan contract that enabled them to cancel the agreement if they failed to beat the drop.
The clause in the German World Cup winner's contract means the Championship-bound outfit will save around £2.5million in wages.
After a busy summer in which they tried to consolidate their status as a Premier League club, a string of players are set to leave in the upcoming transfer window as Fulham look to free themselves up financially.
However, before the transfer season gets underway, Fulham's main focus will be on finishing the season with some pride.
Fulham take on Everton at home next on April 13 before finishing off with games against Bournemouth, Cardiff, Wolves and Newcastle.

Best for him really, if he didn't score 15+ goals in the championship that reflects badly on him

Shame. Was quite a promising player at one point. Wish he'd been given more time at Chelsea.

I remember Chelsea fans constantly raving about this guy from 2014-16... I was wondering what they saw in him.

Obviously only getting rid of him because of high wages and the fact he won’t want to play in the championship
