HE'S certainly come at the right time.
With the £25m sale of Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid and the inconsistent form of Serge Aurier, Tottenham are struggling to fill the right back slot.
But there's a lad coming through the ranks that could be the answer to Mauricio Pochettino's prayers.
Full back Dermi Lusala, 16, is the latest from their fine academy expected to follow the likes of Harry Kane and Harry Winks into the first team.
An athletic defender, full of energy and pace, Lusala is a local boy who grew up in Edmonton, North London - a stones throwaway from the Spurs training ground.
Given then that he's 'one of their own' Tottenham fans will only take to him more, should he break into the first team.
LOCAL BOY
Born January 16, 2003 Lusala attended St Ignatius College.
There he excelled at athletics in track and field, before football became his true calling.
However, despite being brought up in Tottenham's catchment area, it was Brentford who he trained with first.
In 2016, after impressing at youth level, scouts from the Premier League giants spotted Lusala's talents and he moved to his boyhood club.
He made his debut for the Under-18s last season against Chelsea, while he was still at school.
But it was at the Oberndorf Under-19 pre-season tournament in the summer in Germany where Lusala showed he's certainly one for the future and stood out with his tenacious tackling and tireless running.
Since then, he's become a regular for the club's Under-18 side and has appeared in eight games this season.
His versatility has meant he has played both left and right back so far, and he filled in at centre half in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last week.
THE FUTURE'S BRIGHT
With Spurs believing of promoting from within, there's a genuine feeling at the club that Lusala will come good on his promise.
Youngsters like Troy Parrott and Japhet Tanganga have shown Lusala the way, training with the first team and appearing in the Carabao Cup against Colchester United.
This season might be a year too soon for Lusala, but next year when he turns 17 there may be an opportunity for a League Cup run out.
And he may just be what Tottenham are looking for at right back to solve their defensive woes.
After all, he is 'one of their own'.
