Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte was far from impressed after he was left out of the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.
The PFA announced its yearly awards on Thursday night with Mo Salah and Phil Foden claiming the big individual prizes.
And there was plenty of controversy as the season's 'best IX' was named.
Only three players from champions City were included while runners-up Liverpool had six.
One of the City players to miss out was Laporte, who had a fine campaign in defence.
The Spaniard made no effort to hude his frustration, taking to Instagram to share his impressive stats before sharing a Jose Mourinho GIF with a series of emoticons to express his frustration.
The GIF was from a famous interview in which Mourinho said he 'preferred not to speak' because if he did he 'would be in big trouble'.
It's easy to understood why Laporte feels hard done by, simply by looking at the numbers he shared himself.
The centre-back completed the most passes (2767) in the league and had the highest passing accuracy (94.85%). He also averaged the highest number of accurate passes per 90 (87.9).
Furthermore, no centre-back managed more than his four goals or three last-man tackles. All this with City having the joint best defensive record in the top flight.

Two notable omissions are RODRI and SON...RODRI should've replaced THIAGO while SON replaces MANE...But I think English FA supports Liverpool... 🙄🙄🙄

It's based in individual performance not team performance.
It's individual performance that makes up team performance. If the team is performing, then the individuals are also performing.
