William Gallas was left shocked to find that he was snubbed in an Instagram post by the Premier League celebrating the Chelsea XI from the 2005-06 season.
The French defender - who also featured for the Blues' rivals Arsenal and Tottenham - was overlooked for Spaniard Asier del Horno.
Del Horno featured only 25 times in the Premier League that season, while the French defender racked up 34 appearances out of a possible 38 - one more than he claimed in a dejected Instagram post in response to the snub.
Furthermore, Gallas was named in the Premier League's Team of the Year as part of a four-strong party from the champions.
And the now-45-year-old was clearly offended by missing out, and took to social media himself to put forward his case in response.
'Surprising to note that the Premier League has excluded me from the Chelsea's 2005/06 typical team,' he wrote.
'With 33 appearances as start XI and 5 goals in the premier League, Being voted as a left back in the Premier League team of the season 2005/2006.
'I say to myself that something has gone seriously wrong somewhere!!'
Gallas was a mainstay in the side that recorded back-to-back top-flight titles, and scored five goals in all competitions in 45 games, as well as providing two assists.
Primarily a centre-back, the France international often deputised on the left for Mourinho to make way for John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho, but only came off the bench twice across the season in the top-flight.
The Blues also endured numerous injury problems on the left-hand side across the season, with Wayne Bridge struggling for fitness in particular.
And the French international was arguably one of the most important figures in the club's second successive crown, playing in four different positions including right-back, centre-back, defensive midfield and left-back.
However, 2005-06 proved to be his last campaign with the Blues, and went to city rivals Arsenal as part of a trade deal that saw Ashley Cole go the other way and the Gunners receive an extra £5million.
Del Horno, who was included over Gallas in the post, was a new arrival at Stamford Bridge at the start of the 2005-06 season.
The Basque-born left-back would go on to make 34 appearances in all competitions, but left the club after just one campaign.
He was taken back to his native Spain by Valencia to replace the retiring Amedeo Carboni at the end of the season.

Del Horno was never good enough to me. I kept wondering why we signed him. He was out weak link whenever he played. He had a poor career in Chelsea. Gallas has a very great career in Chelsea.
