It may be the international break but the news doesn't stop pouring out of Old Trafford.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe isn't keen to waste any time after officially become a co-owner at Manchester United, with his overhaul of the club's footballing department now in motion. The INEOS chairman and his colleagues want to install major changes which could be bad news for Erik ten Hag.

Despite guiding the Red Devils to the most memorable win of his era on Sunday with their incredible 4-3 extra-time victory over Liverpool to reach the FA Cup semi-finals, Ten Hag's future as manager remains uncertain. Ratcliffe is willing to be ruthless and judging by what's just emerged, the United manager best get ready to pack his bags.

Here's a round-up of the latest news from a busy Old Trafford.

Southgate becomes No.1 target

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly made Gareth Southgate his first choice to replace the vulnerable Erik ten Hag. A bombshell report from the Daily Star claims that Ratcliffe has settled on the current England boss after consulting a number of Red Devils legends.

Southgate's contract with England expires this December, although a decision on his future is expected to be made in June or July due to this summer's European Championships. It's added that the FA have offered the 53-year-old a new deal but Southgate has been reluctant to commit his future to international football.

Eriksen summons Ten Hag for talks

Manchester United star Christian Eriksen is unhappy with his lack of game time since the emergence of teammate Kobbie Mainoo. The Danish midfielder hasn't started a single game since the Red Devils' mid-season break in January, yet Erik ten Hag has named on the bench.

Eriksen, 32, has grown frustrated and speaking to Tipsbladet, he revealed: "I have had a conversation with Erik about being unhappy with the situation and wanting to play as much as possible, but I am available and need to be available for the team, which I am and always will be.

"He said it was the team he had chosen, and Kobbie is doing well and the rest of the midfield is also performing well, so there is competition for places, which is expected when playing for a top club. There is great competition within the team."

Mainoo gets first England call-up

Kobbie Mainoo has been promoted to England's senior squad after initially being called up for the under-21s. Having previously been reluctant to throw him in, Gareth Southgate has made a U-turn on the Manchester United wonderkid, who was outstanding against Liverpool on Sunday.

The 18-year-old midfielder will be available to face Brazil at Wembley on Saturday before England welcome Belgium next Tuesday to continue their preparations ahead of Euro 2024.
