In response to this post, Garnacho replied in a very strong manner, sharing a photo of himself hugging Messi after the Copa America final to dispel any doubts about their relationship.

In a previous interview, Garnacho said: "If you like Ronaldo, you don’t have to hate Messi. People don’t understand this. When I first played with Messi, I asked for his jersey and hung it in my closet. He won us the World Cup after 36 years. All of us Argentinians see him as our leader and the creator of our glory."
