Alejandro Garnacho's brother has come under fire on social media after he shared a series of photos chronicling the Argentine's arrival at Chelsea.

Roberto Garnacho has amassed more than 60,000 followers on social media showing off snaps of his luxury lifestyle and behind-the-scenes glimpses into Alejandro's playing career.

On Saturday Roberto posted a carousel of images on Instagram after his older brother completed a £40million move to Stamford Bridge following months of speculation surrounding his future.

However, while the post quickly racked up likes on the platform many of the responses in the comments were not particularly favourable.

One fan wrote: 'You are acting like you are the one that signed the contract, you are breaking his career let him enjoy his career he's still young.

Another added: 'What's your job? Being Garnacho's brother?

A third wrote: 'Now plz ruin Chelsea like you did to United.'

Despite his youth, Roberto is no stranger to finding himself at the centre of a controversy.

In December United boss Ruben Amorim dropped both Garnacho and Marcus Rashford ahead of a clash with rivals Man City.

The bombshell appeared to have been leaked the day before the crunch clash, with the younger Garnacho later taking to social media to deny that he had been the source of the information.

United sources later told the Manchester Evening News that Garnacho's omission was not related to suggestions that his brother had been responsible for leaking teams.

However the fact that information of such paramount importance to the side's preparations for a derby clash could find its way out of the dressing-room likely came as a serious breach, but the Portuguese admitted it is 'impossible' to prevent.

'I know that story,' Amorim said after the 2-1 win of the leak via the club's official website.

'I don't know, I think it's impossible to fix nowadays because you have a lot of people in the club, the players talk with agents.'

'I don't know, you can talk with friends, so it's hard to know. It's not a good thing but let's move on and go to the next one and see if they find the next starting XI.'

Roberto again found himself in hot water following United's Europa League final defeat to Spurs.

Garnacho had started every knockout stage match in the club's run in the competition including both legs of their semi-final triumph over Athletic Bilbao.

However, the Argentine was left on the bench for the final in May, before being introduced in the closing stages with United searching for an equaliser.

After United were beaten 1-0 Roberto later took to social media to accuse Amorim of 'throwing him under the bus' in Bilbao.

'Working as no one else, Helping every round, coming from 2 goals last 2 finals,' he wrote on Instagram at the time.

'Just to be on the pitch 19 mins and get thrown under the bus. [Wow] hajjahhahaha.'

‘Obviously it’s hard for everyone,’ said Garnacho at the San Mames. ‘Our season was s***. We didn’t beat anyone in the league. We lacked a lot of things. When you don’t score goals, you always need more.

‘Until we reached the final, I played every round. And I played 20 minutes today – I don’t know. I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens next.’

Tensions between player and manager only heightened in the days that followed.

Amorim held a team meeting at Carrington in which it emerged he opened the door for the unhappy Argentina winger to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Daily Mail Sport revealed that  Amorim was so angry that he effectively told Garnacho to hope to God he can find another club rather have to return to United for pre-season training at the start of July.

‘You better pray that you can find a club to sign you,’ said Amorim in a way that left Garnacho, 20, and his team-mates in no doubt that the player’s United career is over.

The club said they would not comment on private dressing-room conversations.
