Gary Neville has hit back at Mino Raiola, after the Italian super-agent claimed Manchester United had been living in Manchester City's shadow for the past few years.
On Friday, Raiola opened the door to Erling Haaland joining the Premier League champions in the summer, suggesting there was a 'big chance' his client would leave Borussia Dortmund.
City have long been interested in the Norwegian and Raiola name-checked them as one of the potential destinations.
'Erling can and will take the next step,' he told German radio Sport1. 'Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, City — these are the big clubs he can go to.
'City have won the championship five times in the last few years, much more than United.'
The remark didn't go down well with Neville, who made his feelings known on Twitter.
'I know we've been c*** recently, but Mino Raiola has wiped out all of United's Premier League titles in one foul [sic] swoop,' the former United captain said.
City have won the Premier League four times since United lifted their most recent title at the end of the 2012-13 season.
City have also won six League Cups and one FA Cup over the last seven years, while their local rivals have only lifted the League Cup and the Europa League in 2017.
United, however, remain the most successful English club in terms of top-flight titles with 20, one ahead of Liverpool and 13 clear of City.
Neville and Raiola have exchanged verbals before, with the former England international suggesting the super-agent had deliberately tried to unsettle United by suggesting Paul Pogba could leave United.
Since the Frenchman returned to Old Trafford in the summer of 2016, Raiola has often dropped hints the former Juventus midfielder wasn't entirely happy at United and criticised the club.
In December last year, Neville urged the club to cut ties with the Italian altogether after he said Pogba's spell at Old Trafford was 'over' just before United hosted City in the Premier League.
'The guy [Raiola] should never be dealt with again by this football club,' he said.
'This football club has got to stand still and look at what is happening.'
The prospect of never doing business with United again doesn't seem to worry Raiola, however.
'I don’t give a f*** if I never do another player [deal] with Man United,' he told The Athletic in March.
'I’m not in their hands. I’m independent. We have only one party that we take care of: our players. And as long as our players like us, you do what you have to do.'
Like Haaland, Pogba could be on the move this summer.
The Frenchman's contract expires at the end of the season and he is yet to accept United's extension offer. Should Pogba and the club not reach an agreement by January, he would be free to discuss terms with potential suitors.
'We have many offers for Pogba, including a contract extension proposal [from United],' Raiola said.
'We'll see what's best for him.'
Meanwhile, Ralf Rangnick insisted he won't try to change Pogba's mind if United's record signing wants to quit the club in the summer.
'Players have to want to play and stay at a big club like Manchester United,' the United interim manager said in his press conference on Friday.
'If a player does not want to play for a club like Manchester United medium or long-term, I don't think it makes sense to convince him to change his mind.
'I don't think anyone in the club should try to convince a player to stay.'

Neville's not wrong that United has more trophies but a player doesn't care about that. A player has a 10-15 year career and he wants to make the most of it, and therefore the last 5 years is a better comparison than trophies won 50 years ago. At the rate City has been improving and winning trophies, the gap is narrowing every year.

I don't think straight when discussing rivals so bare with me..that's what rivalries can do
forest has won trophies in the past despite they always finish mid table lol that's example of history mate, just because united and Liverpool been dominating from the 90s doesn't mean other clubs don't have any history, city does, but most people are ignorant to look it up

mate, who said city were big rivals of united? learn your football knowledge you clown, city won 13 trophies before 2008 🤣🤣regardless of their mid table pre 2008, they also won an European trophy, there lots of evidence that city has a bigger chance of winning the league before united even add to their 20, stop embarrassing yourself, every club has history, they just ain't big like united or Liverpool

Riola is a Mafia. these characters don't have remorse or respect for others, just look at the attitude of the most players he represents. soon Haland will be like either Pogba or Ibrahimovic who of late has been talking a dig at Manchester United for God knows what.

Raiola was right, City are better than United right now even if it's success as some billionaire's plaything that would never happen if City had to generate it's income at it's true level. That also goes for clubs like Chelsea and Newcastle, they are rich only because of their owners and that's the reason they are or will be successful, otherwise they would be mid-table fodder
