Ex-Manchester United defender Gary Neville has praised new signing Daniel James for his leadership abilities, but has criticised his teammates for not taking responsibility in the debate over who took a penalty in the draw against Wolves.
"My biggest concern is that Daniel James, the youngest, most naive and newest United player seems like the biggest leader," said Neville.
"United are a young team, 24 and a half is the average age and basically there isn't a player out on that pitch who has said 'Paul, there you go.'
"Managers do allow the dressing room to take responsibility but even if the players decide amongst themselves surely the player who scored last week has to take it this week.
"It isn't like spin the bottle. I don't get it."

can someone tell me what olé and pundits see in lingard? olé is in love with that average player who can't even get in wolves starting XI and pundits can't criticize him. I think he should playing for teams like Norwich, Brighton,...

No one wants to see the true picture. United are vulnerable on the left and that's where Wolves exploited them at Half Time. Just look how Adama T cut through Luke Shaw. Shaw is a reasonable player but he has no football brain. Wolves could not penetrate Wan Bissaka and switch their attack to the left. Harry Mcguire not only defends from the opposing team he has to cover Shaw too. He is not the Shaw we saw at Southampton. Sadly Lingard should be dropped he is not an asset to United and being a fringe player is more suitable for him. Sad at the end of the day and although it's still early in the season I can safely predict United won't be in the top 4 this season.

I see the reason why Manchester United didn’t sign Bruno Fernandes, if it wasn’t an England player playing the role of Lingaurd then Bruno Fernandes would have gotten to Manchester United before Wan Bissaka arrival. Lingaurd was busy missing chances why Pogba is playing very nice, all blame to Pogba why Lingaurd was seen as a perfect player in the eyes of Neville. Has anyone noticed that United lack this 4 things: (1) shot from outside box(Fernandes) (2) no set pieces taker (Fernandes) (3) no corner kick taker (Fernandes), funniest part Shaw would couldn’t cross the ball when on attack was taking headache corner kick. (4) sign Bruno Fernandes and bench Lingaurd. Pogba cant do the work all alone in the midfield. We still need Bruno despite Utd upgrade from last season.

yah, shut up Gray. How will such comments help the team? The team are starting to show good spirit amongst them. Let them and the manager decide what's best for them. Glory, Glory Man United!!

u man u fans those condeming players are ridicolous. its was the best performance from the lads. its not easy to play away vs wolves. pogba miss a penalty and u guys making noise. compare to chelsea even we won it 4 0 but the performance is not good as yday match vs wolves. we still in rebuliding and i can see the difference ole made to the team. we have to stand by the manager and keep on support and trust our beloved team. thats what a man utd fan stand for ...

The day just wasn't for us, simple. If Pogba scored the Penalty, we won't be saying all these.....we seem to be a bad loser

I agree with Neville.... but Pogba should of came of after 60 mins coz the lack of creativity on the pitch, although his brilliant at times. it really amazes me that Pogba has a lack of interest in the 2nd but he still on... he needs to be subbed or given 50mins max on the pitch just to teach him.. No player is bigger then the club. look at Pepe and Yaya... or Pepe.. Eto. there is other Brilliant players out there... but for Ole Pogba is a must. if Ole dnt teach Pogba a lesson then... we will surely have bad games and probably a new manager come end of season. hopefully it dnt come to that coz Ole is a brilliant up and coming coach. I pray that he will stay for years at United and win trophies. Pogba needs to come ryt
