Gary Neville has hilariously revealed Wayne Rooney nicknamed him T-Bag, after the Prison Break character, 'for years' during their playing days at Manchester United.
In the chat with West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, in the latest edition of The Overlap, the duo broke out into fits of giggles over Neville's unfortunate moniker.
T-Bag, whose real name in the hit US show was Theodore Bagwell, was one of the main characters across all five seasons, and was brought up in the interview.
Quizzed over his favourite TV programme, Rice responded with: 'Prison Break.'
Neville pointed out that his guest would take aim at him over the iconic character he was likened to, although the England man did not know about the nickname.
To little surprise, he erupted in laughter, with Neville then adding: 'You're gonna come up with the joke abut me now, aren't you? Do you know they call me T-Bag?'
Rice followed up by asking about whether the nickname was true, to which the host of the popular Sky Bet show admitted Rooney was the architect of the joke.
'Yeah! Rooney called me that for years,' Neville said.
Back in 2012, Old Trafford legend Rooney explained on Twitter why his former team-mate was called T-Bag.
'We call [Gary Neville] T-Bag because he is a ringer of T-Bag in Prison Break. For everyone asking,' the striker tweeted.
Rice went on to explain that the character was 'great', saying: 'Do you know what? He's a great character, though. He's a great character.'
The pair were not done there, though. At the end of a clip posted by Neville on his social media pages, the iconic former full back mimicked one of T-Bag's slaves.
Pulling the side-splitting impression out of thin air, Neville pretended to hold on to the inside of one of Rice's pockets.
'Yeah, it is. I'm like that holding your pocket,' he said.
Social media users replied to Neville's tweet to admit that Neville does indeed share features with T-Bag.
'Haha T-Bag can't unsee that now,' one said.
Another added: 'Now that I think about it, Gary does actually look like T Bag from Prison Break.'
