Steven Gerrard showed his uncompromising side as he interrupted Jordan Rossiter's answer in a press conference to issue a warning to underperforming Rangers players.
After the Gers' 1-0 defeat by Aberdeen in the Betfred Cup semi-finals, Gerrard had pulled no punches, insisting he would recruit fresh blood if the current line-up continued to fail to deliver.
And when Rossiter was confronted by his manager's words in a press conference on Tuesday, Gerrard swiftly interjected.

The interviewer said: 'Jordan as a player, to hear your manager say "If the players we have right now don't improve and start producing quality in the final third, my job is to find players that will do it", what effect does that have as a player, is it a motivational thing?'
'Well I think at any big club...' Rossiter began, before Gerrard immediately took over.
'I'll answer that, it's a warning,' he fired back.
'It's a question for me that, not him (Rossiter), he's been injured for two years.
'At a big club, you expect big players to step up and provide big moments. If that doesn't happen, at any big club, the manager and recruitment find better players or players who will do that.'
Gerrard's response demonstrated his laudable willingness to protect Rossiter from an awkward line of questioning whilst reaffirming his post-match warning.
The Liverpool legend is looking to inspire an upturn in fortunes for Rangers, who lie fifth in the Scottish Premiership, trailing Hearts by eight points.
He will be looking for a response from the team in Wednesday's clash with Kilmarnock.

No matter if you agree with what Gerrard did what pleases me is how he's not pretending to be a klopp or a Rafa. He's being the manager he wants to be and sticking to guns no matter what the media wants him to be unlike Gary Neville

Tell it straight Stevie G. Nothing wrong with that.

That's not just football. If I don't perform at work I get warning and correct training. If I don't improve then other solutions have to be put in place.

Good on him.... over paid players don't put in the shift for the badge. They always get paid no matter what. Need a rocket up them.

Dumb question to ask any player! Why would you ask a player what someone else has said when that person is sitting right next to you, JUST ASK THE PERSON THAT SAID IT!!

It's still far, far too early to know whether Gerrard is gonna be any good as a manager but he certainly seems to have the inner steel that most good managers have.

Stevie G seems to have a management style which is refreshing, I laud his approach.
