Nothing has yet been definitively said about Diego Godin's future, but everything is pointing towards the Uruguayan joining Inter on 30 June as a free agent, yet his loyalty to Atletico Madrid remains unquestioned.
In an ideal situation, he would have been able to stay at Atleti, however the contract offer that the centre-back desired appears to have not arrived.
Godin has been able to talk to other clubs since 1 January and it was reported by Sky Sport Italia that he has passed his medical ahead of a move to the Nerazzurri; it seems that only a radical turn of events would see the 32-year-old remain in the Spanish capital.
Since returning from injury, Godin played five games in a row at a very high level and his head coach, Diego Simeone, has no doubt that he will be solely focused on Atleti for as long as he is wearing the Rojiblanco strip.
"I can't comment [regarding Godin's possible medical with Inter] because I am not inside his body," Simeone said in his press conference on Friday.
"We are thinking about the Getafe game and I am sure that he will play with the same spirit, passion and tenacity that he has played with since he arrived [at the club].
"I do not doubt Godin even for a second."
Godin may have picked up a knock in Atleti's 3-0 win away at Huesca last weekend, meaning he had to follow an individualised plan in training this week, but he will be ready to once again lead the defence when they face Getafe on Saturday afternoon.

If he leaves it is to leave a gap so that Lucas feels more important and go up to Montero

'The penultimate services of godin' yes sir a strong phrase, I think that whoever writes this is totally sure of what it says, it should be like this but unfortunately we have a journalism in which nothing happens to write whatever is a lie or not be contrasted, I will never forget a very recent headline: 'the five reasons why Lucas prefers Bayern before Madrid or Manchester'

Hahaha, now that Lucas's last week is over and Morata's is not done and we've all laughed at the image-washing campaign, the Godin soap opera begins. We are going to have little notes (not news) every two days remembering that you have not signed; that according to Sky Sports passed a recognition (and that Godin lives in Spain: these Marqueños are so cracks that they do not even know for themselves); that is still unsigned; Listen, he has not signed yet with anyone, and once again, to nausea.

Godin is a legend of Atlético de Madrid. The leaders should make an effort to continue until he wants to, but if Godin is not free to go where he is most interested, here he will always be loved and respected.

We are not going to find a central like godin in years. A big mistake not to renew it. I hope I can raise the Champions before leaving.

"Dear" Isaac: Do you for certain a FABULA "supposedly" created in Italy, without any proof and without the slightest probability of being true APPLYING THE COMMON SENSE? Is it possible to pass an extensive medical examination to sign an athlete WITHIN SEVEN MONTHS and that he / she can SERIOUSLY BE INJURED long before signing the contract? You (JFD and the band of Viking merengutans from Marca's editorial office) are not JOURNALISTS, but MERCENARIES of the press, in the pay of Florentino Perez.
